Running Accomplishments:

I have run the St. George Marathon 5 times. My fastest time was 3:29. Other marathons I have run are the San Diego Rock n' Roll Marathon, Tucson Marathon and Newport Oregon Marathon.

Hurricane 1/2,  Painter 1/2 marathon

Bryce Canyon 1/2 Marathon (PR - 1:36:46),

Spectrum 10K (PR - 44:10)

Ivins 5 mile 24th of July Fun Run-- First Woman Overall

Bryce Canyon 5 mile Rim Run, Mesquite 10 miler, Peachtree 10k. Atlanta.Georgia.


Short-Term Running Goals:


I'd like to get a 3:27 at the next St. George Marathon.

Next spring our goal is to run the Ogden Marathon in May.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Boston in 2010

I'd like to do the Utah Grand Slam

I also want to become a member of the 10 year club for the St. George Marathon.


Personal:

I have been running for 6 years. I have 2 children and have been married for 16 years. My husband also runs. After I ran my first St. George Marathon I was hooked and have been running ever since.

It was hot this morning but I am grateful for the cloud cover so at least the sun wasn't beating down on me.  Had to stop at Dutchman's to use the bathroom and fill up my water bottle.  Hamstring felt fine today.  The last 3 miles were tough.  I kept visualizing the marathon to push me through.

Well this is the last week of summer vacation.  Stayed up too late last night and slept in.  It was hot when I finally went running.  Did 7.50 then did weights.

It was so humid this morning.  I went to the track and did mile repeats.  Did 4 of them with a lap recovery.  They weren't as fast as I had wanted but the track was busy with cross country, soccer players on the field and other runners.  Next week I'll have to get up early so I can run before everyone arrives.

3-  7:20

4-  7:08  

 

mile warm-up and 2.50  mile cool down.

Rode the bike hard for an hour then did arm/leg weights.

400 meter recovery lap.

Ran around Ivins,  through Santa Clara and into St. George.   Felt pretty good.  Really pushed hard the last 4 miles.

Ran around Ivins.  Was slow in the beginning because legs felt sore.  Picked up pace the last 3 miles.

I did  6  1/2 mile repeats.   A mile warm-up and mile cool down.   Felt real slow during the warm-up and the first repeat then I slowly got a  little faster.

I went to the track this morning and did mile repeats.    I started with 2 mile warm-up.  My body felt stiff and didn't want to work right.    My first mile was a little slower but still okay.  Some slower people came to the track during my second  and third mile.  It is really annoying when they clog up the first two lanes on the track although they did push me.  I kept trying to see how many times I could lap them.   2 1/2 mile cool down.

4th  6:58  (yippee)

Decided to do a shorter distance today. Ran my usual route through Santa Clara, up Lava flow, and up Pioneer parkway then onto Snow canyon parkway and home.

It felt very warm this morning. I wish it would start cooling down! Ran around Ivins. Backtracked a little to the park so I could get another drink. Started out great. Slowed down in the middle then had a great finish.   Came home and got my girls out of bed  told them to get dressed, make bed and brush their hair.  I headed out to the garage and did  a few weights.

Did 8 miles this morning on my treadmill.  two warm up miles.  then 4  one mile repeats @ 7:13  with a quarter lap in between.  A mile and a quarter cool down.

 This afternoon while I was waiting for my daughter to finish dance I did another 3 miles.
